"The King is dead" . There is MATE when a king is surrounded by 4 pieces of which at least one of opponent .

not MATE if a king is surrounded by
4 pieces
of his player .

Example 1 :

The whites startes in freeing a counterstrike in moving one of two queens .
This move forces the blacks to take a white queen .
The whites moves a queen and the blacks are forced to take a second time .
in the finaly, the whites moves their last queen and encloses the black king...
It's mate, the whites win !

Example 2 :

In this example, the whites uses their king for to block the black king (two kings must be separated by a big square), in the finaly, the whites encloses the black king and win, it's mate !
